World Mens Designer Clothing – Avant-Garde Fashion from New Zealand

Founded in 1989 by Denise L’Estrange-Corbet and Francis Hooper, the World fashion label has been an avant-garde beacon across New Zealand and Australia. Although primarily a boutique label with a niche artistic following, the Auckland based label rose to new levels in 1995 after winning the Benson and Hedges Fashion Design Awards leading to international attention and recognition. World stomped its authority in the fashion industry in 1999 after showing at London Fashion Week as part of the ‘New Zealand Four’ (Karen Walker, Nom*D and Zambesi made up the foursome).

World continues its unique styling in both menswear and womenswear. Clashing colour combinations and unusual fabric/material use continue to drive World. It is a true avant-garde label with no traditional styling boundaries. World has shown at all the major fashion capitals of the world including Italy, Hong Kong, Paris, London and Sydney.
