Australian-born designer Sheree Commerford’s career has evolved greatly over the last fifteen years, but things really kicked up a notch when she went from stylist to Creative Director when she launched her womenswear label ‘Woodford & Co’. The label is named after Woodland Island, cane and cattle county in far north New South Wales – Sheree’s home town, where since the age of eight she dreamed of owning her fashion label.

The Woodford & Co brand soon gained a reputation for its unique aesthetic mixing tradition and heritage with the more contemporary and modern. The distinctive mix of feminine silhouettes and masculine line has earned the label a cult underground following, which is gradually increasing throughout Australia. As of early 2012, the Woodford and Co collections are stocked at over fifty boutiques throughout Australia and New Zealand, as well as being available internationally via some of the finest online boutiques.

Aesthetic of the Woodford & Co Brand

“Besides being my modern day icons they just have an effortless style, they don’t try, their style is truly from within. That is the Woodford woman to me.” – Sheree Commerford

Drawing on an obsession with iconic films and their muses, such as Bridget Bardot and Lauren Hutton, the Woodford & Co signature aesthetic reflects natural beauty, strength and the free spirit that comes with independent style. The inspiration behind the brand’s relaxed aesthetic is strongly inspired by coastal and country living, men’s tailoring, the dinner suit, and of course preppy style.
