‘Three Over One’ is a Sydney-based menswear and womenswear label founded by designers Jim Thompson and Kinae Kim in 2009. Inspired by vintage fashions, the Three Over One aesthetic is influenced by work wear from the 1930’s and 1940’s, as well as vintage American sportswear.
The up-and-coming Australian fashion label continues with their seasonal aesthetic with the Autumn/Winter 2012 menswear collection. This season sees an expansion of the Three Over One product range, with an extensive line of men’s outerwear and an addition of a women’s capsule collection.
The lookbook, created by studioFRONTdesk! has a lighthearted appeal of times gone by, and features friends of Three Over One as models, posing in the brand’s Autumn/Winter wares. The outdoorsy collection featured country style outerwear , relaxed sweaters and knitwear, quality basic and denim, work wear inspired cargo-style trousers, along with the sharper tailored shirting and tie additions, which gives a smarter twist to the rugged aesthetic of the line – dressing own to dress up. The colour palette features the earthy tones of rust, stone, khaki interspersed with the softer sand and sky blue shades.
The collection has not only caught out eyes here at Australian Fashion Review Blog, but also the eyes of renowned British TV chef Jamie Oliver, who said the Three Over One created his “favourite Aussie apparel” in a post on the photo sharing App Instagram. Jamie, who was in Australia promoting healthy eating and continue his ongoing crusade against obesity, also said he was “well chuffed” when he discovered the label at Sydney store The Other Side located along Paddington’s retail hub, Oxford Street.
So without further ado, we present the Autumn/Winter 2012 menswear collection from Three Over One…Enjoy!
