Womens Swimwear Fashion – Australian Designers, Labels & Brands

The upcoming Australian women’s swimwear fashion ranges are looking bloody good this year, and it may have something to do with Miranda Kerr. This week saw the launch of the David Jones summer fashion campaign that had the show piece of Miranda Kerr doing more than simply turn a few heads. I’m not the first to admit that she has to be one of Australia’s top identities. Miranda Kerr has an unbelievable ability to connect to so many markets (men, women, young and old)- that is why she is worth every single million-dollar penny to David Jones, and more.

She also has an unbelievable ability to pull of swimwear fashion which may be attributed to her Victoria’s Secret body and killer cute looks. At her recent runway appearance, Miranda flabbergasted the audience wearing a Jets swimwear piece. I don’t think Jets could be anymore privileged to have Miranda as an ambassador of their Australian swimwear label, even if it was for only quick ten struts down a cat walk for literally ten seconds. I’m almost certain that every major newspaper I picked up the following day had Miranda sitting somewhere between the first and fifth page with a full figure swimwear shot.

As much as I have raved on about the magical appeal of Miranda Kerr, this post is actually not all about her, its about Australian swimwear brands & designers. Given that Australia has a claim at having the best beaches in the world, I guess there is no reason why Australian fashion labels can’t claim that they produce the best swimwear in the world. And I’m not talking about the recent controversial polyurethane ultra high-tech swim suits worn by athletes for the millisecond edge, I’m talking about womens swimwear fashion for the beach or pool.

There are a number of women’s designer swimwear labels that are claiming their stake as a forefront runner in the Australian swimwear fashion industry. Recently, we posted about Zimmermann and Tigerlily trying to expand their fashion brand reach to the Big Apple – New York. Both were showing off their women’s swimwear fashion collections.

Other Australian women’s swimwear labels include Anna & Boy, Jets by Jessika Allen (as worn by Miranda in the above images), Lisa Ho Swim, Seafolly, Rochford, Baku, Billabong, Bond-Eye, and Aqua Blu to name a few.

Fashion Review Australia thought it would be relevant to feature some of this seasons summer fashion swimwear collections, in-line with all the Miranda fuelled hype – enjoy!
