Introduction to the State of Georgia Fashion Label

Australian designer, Georgia hall, was born to be in the public eye – a performer at heart, Georgia loved dressing up as a child, which eventually led to a career on the stage and as an actress that took her around the world. Before entering the world of fashion Georgia had acted with Patrick Dempsey, Kirsty Alley and Poppy Montgomery, as well as dancing in advertisements, music videos and even played the Disney Princess Jasmine from Aladdin.

Om 2004, Georgia switched the stage for the sewing machine with the foundation of her womenswear fashion label ‘State of Georgia’, with the aim of creating collections eclectic collection, mixing sexiness with vintage influences. Georgia aimed to design her collections to suit every state of mind – hence the witty name.

In 2007, the State of George landed firmly on the fashion radar in late 2007 with Australian fashion juggernaut, Sportsgirl, inviting Georgia to design a range for the Spring racing carnival, following impressing the brand after her solo show at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week. The rest, as they say, is history.

As of early 2012, the State of Georgia fashion label was continuing to expand in domestic and international markets. The State of Georgia collections are available in some of the finest boutiques across Australia including, New South Wales’s Encounters and Tuchuzy; Victoria’s Estelle, To the Max and Zahara; Queensland’s Bamboo Blonde and Little Red Dress; and Western Australia’s Planet Clothing and Pigeon Hole. The brand has also moed into the overseas market being stocked in Dubai’s Sauce and Japan’s Jack of All Trades.

Aesthetic of the State of Georgia Fashion Label

The State of Georgia Fashion label is known for its bohemian and girlish aesthetic with a rock and roll edge and playful trims. Prints also play a huge role in each of the brand’s collections, which Georgia is constantly searching for and designing. The label’s cool and contemporary aesthetic has won the label a number of stylish celebrity fans, including Nicole Kidman, Natalie Bassingthwaite, Paris Hilton and Chrstina Ricci.
