Something Else Collaborates with Australian Artist Ken Done for Summer 2012Read more about Something Else, or view recent Something Else Collections on Australian Fashion Review Blog. For the Something Else Summer 2012 collection, entitled Submerged, designer Natalie Wood takes us on a magical journey under the sea, alongside an underwater superhero, exploring the vibrant, colourful and otherworldly ocean environment. Inspired by coral reefs, sea creatures, silvery and colourful fish and shells, Submerged features a varied colour palette, with plenty of sandy and aqua hues, as well as deep navy, tangerines and, of course, the classic black. With relaxed, yet feminine silhouettes the collection consists of girly mini dresses, peg trouser, jersey t-shirt dresses and simple basics. The Summer 2012 collection also sees a collaboration with legendary Australian artist Ken Done, in which Something Else Art Director George Barnes selected twenty pieces from Done’s archives from 1978-1990. The works were recreated and digitally remixed into six prints that featured on kaftans, shirts, dresses, swimwear and T-shirts is a very special capsule collection. So without further ado we present the Summer 2012 collection from Something Else…Enjoy!
