Launching in February 2011, womenswear label LP33.3 is a relative newcomer to the Australian fashion industry, but that hasn’t stopped the brand from making their mark. Growing from strength to strength since their debut collection for the Autumn/Winter 2011 season, it is no surprise that founders Luke Hosking and Paul del Giglio share and impressive design pedigree. Paul studied in fashion capital, Milan, completing his Masters Degree in Fashion Design at the prestigious Marangoni Institute, before working for the likes of Blumarine and Zimmermann. Whilst, Luke graduated from the East Sydney Institute, before working for big names in the industry, such as David Lawrence and Alice McCall.
The name, LP33.3 is an acronym of the designer’s initials, with the 33.3 symbolising ‘the infinite loop’, which is extremely apt as the brand’s quality garments are built to last a lifetime. Not the kind of brand to follow the pack, LP33.3 forgoes the mass overseas production that has become synonymous with other brands – instead choosing a hand-crafted approach, which supports the Australian Fashion Industry. A chic simplicity is at the heart of every LP33.3 collection, allowing the natural fabrics to speak for themselves. Paul and Luke don’t over complicate their designs with over-the-top frills and embellishments. This Australian made and ethically sound label is certainly a one to watch.
Recently, we were lucky enough the chat to LP33.3 to find out all there is to know about the up-and-coming womenswear label.

What inspires you during the creative process?
In terms of inspiration, each collection starts with a strong concept and theme and develops from there. Something that has a story to tell as well as a darker undertone is more interesting to LP33.3 than the latest trend or “it” girl. There is usually a strong direction within the season that comes from the books they are reading, films they are watching or places that they have visited that created an emotive response.
