Collection: Resort 2012 – ‘The Way’
Fresh, Invigorating Womenswear from Bridget McCall and Nicholas Van Messner
For High Summer 2011-2012, LIFEwithBIRD designers Bridget McCall and Nicholas Van Messner have created a collection that focuses on the feeling of rejuvenation. Entitled ‘The Way’, the High Summer offering channels the invigorating fresh sensation felt upon waking in the morning on a summer day. This feeling is applied to the signature LIFEwithBIRD paired back design aesthetic to creation a refined collection filled with chic and minimalist pieces.
The heightened feeling of invigoration is translated into the collection through premium fabrics, trims and details. The loose, relaxed silhouette comes in a range of lengths, with delicate drapery and layering – the brand’s signature soft tailoring and understated shapes suggest the womanly figure and are contrasted with over-sized pieces. The resultant looks are truly timeless and undeniably effortless. The pretty, feminine blush colour palette is complemented with a light and airy print – the digital hydrangea print in washed out nude, lilac and grey hues represents the overall freshness of the collection, and features both sparingly on separates and as an all over print dress.
Introduced for Spring 2011, the complementing basics collection L.W.B. LIFEwithBIRD CLASSICS, reappears once again for High Summer 2011-2012 and features top quality basic and further layering options that fit easily alongside the pieces of the main collection. The classics line features pleated maxi skirts, sheer chiffon cropped tanks and tops with cut-away details in the lilac and blush colour palette of the main line. Once again, accessories play a prominent role within the collection – the footwear range featured strapped sandals in distressed nubuck leathers in lilac and toffee shades, as well as a wedge shoes with washed out resin soles.
So without further ado, we present the High Summer 2011-2012 collection from LIFEwithBIRD…enjoy!
