Roc Eyewear – Sunglasses by Lara Bingle
Collection: 2011/2012 – ‘Interpretation’
Roc Eyewear has recently showcased their latest eyewear collection for 2011/2012 titled ‘Interpretation’. Although not traditionally known as a ‘designer’ sunglasses label, Roc Eyewear has undergone a re-branding exercise over the past 18 months (2010-2011) under the watchful eye of creative director George Wu, and fashion consultant Hayley Bonham.
The result is certainly positive, with the launch of a 15-piece collaborative sunglass collection with Australian model Lara Bingle. Many of the frames are vintage inspired, drawing influence from the over-sized sunglasses in the 1970’s.
George Wu commented “We really want to branch out to a wide market and be the go to brand for all things sunnies, and this season we all decided that Lara Bingle was a great choice for us. She has a sound appreciation and understanding of eyewear and has become somewhat of an Aussie summer icon, so she was the perfect fit.”
“Lara is someone we are really investing in. she wants to grow with our business and we know she has the ability to do so in Australia. As for our international presence this is something that we are currently looking into, and we are hoping to take the same direction on an international level. We are working through some ideas for who we would want to face the brand internationally.”
Lara Bingle for Roc Eyewear sunglasses will be available nationally via David Jones, Glue and Roc Eyewear’s e-boutique store. Sunglass-hunters will be pleased to know that all the styles are priced at under $100 so you won’t need break the bank.
