Jamie Ashkar’s Spring/Summer 2013-14 collection ‘Reflection’ was inspired by the concept of angles and intersecting lines. The power of identity and abstract shapes were merged with the idea of reflections on the past and future.
Shapes are clean and modern with an ultra-sports luxe feel; boxy jackets sit back with sleek midi skirts and high-waisted cigarette pants. Luxurious silks and new fabrics are modernised to caress the female body; hard and edgy looks meet controlled fluid pieces resulting in a clash between masculinity and femininity.
Both prints and colour take on a new direction – soft liquid prints and strong vibrant pinks, a great highlight to the softer nudes and greys – all paired with the must-have black styles. Fabrics are new and exciting, double bonded ponti, luxury silks and viscose were all used to create the fashion forward collection.
