Jac + Jack is an Australian fashion label, founded by Jac Hunt and Lisa ‘Jack’ Dempsey in 2004 with the aim of designing and producing luxurious knitwear, for both men and women, which is modern, yet timeless. The brand’s design philosophy is all about the highest quality, using only the finest raw materials, such as sensual cashmere knits, refined wools, silk, cottons and innovative blends, to create truly unique and precious pieces.
The Jac + Jack Autumn/Winter 2012 collection takes its inspiration from the elegance of Old Hollywood around the 1940’s, evoking a feeling of elegance and a timeless, lasting quality. Co-founder of the brand, Jac Hunt explains that he was also influenced by specialised Italian metallic yarns from Pitti Filati, which shimmers and reflects.
The wearable and contemporary collection from Jac + Jack is all about accentuating the female silhouette, with head-to-toe dressing. The line features a dark and moody wintery colour palette if black, white, navy and stone, punctuated with the metallic gilt of the shimmered knit fabric. Heavier knits offer interesting silhouettes and warmth; tailored trousers, both tapered and wide-leg, are locally produced in a sustainable bamboo twill; and sheer fine knits and tanks add a touch of sensuality and sex appeal.
Jac + Jack captures the mood of the Autumn/Winter collection with the accompanying campaign shot by photographer Stephen Ward and styled by Trevor Stones. Inspired by modernist artists amongst other things, the campaign is clean with a strong monochrome, graphic silhouette and features models Ruby Jean Wilson and Ollie Molesworth. Jac + jack co-founders and designers Jac Hunt and Pat Blue gave art direction on this striking campaign.
So without further ado, we present the Autumn/Winter 2012 womenswear collection from Jac + Jack, plus an extra treat of the lookbook to enjoy.
