Sixteen Australian designers recently revealed their Spring/Summer 13/14 collections for the first preview of next season’s trends at the fifth annual Fashion Palette Runway held on March 7.
The looks were sophisticated and sharp, contrasted with flirty bold prints and geometric designs.
Leona Edmiston opened with her highly anticipated collection featuring a mix of soft pastels, bright colours and feminine prints.
Nicola Finetti led the way with chic tailored pieces. Think short suits, pant suits, sharp blouses and symmetrical mini dresses for spring.
Twofolded demonstrated why they are a label to watch with their classic structured designs, while Bettina Liano showcased refreshingly lighter pieces for summer paired with splashes of edgy leather.
Saucy Rose and Wild Pony presented a collection of fun, bold and bright swimwear; a sure hit come next summer.
The next generation of talented designers did not fail to impress either. Couture designers Niki Teljega and Galanni showcased their collection of embellished, sultry eveningwear, which has fast become a celebrity hit, whilst Chiquita Searle, Sharnee and Mossée delivered smart, fun and ultra feminine ready-to-wear that left the industry in a buzz.
Mackenzie Mode and Gemeli Power showcased bold print colours for the biggest trend next spring/summer, whilst Zofara added the ‘wow’ factor with their exotic prints in designs of mini dresses, gowns and skirt/top combinations.
Akira showcased ten of his best archived pieces, while Arthur Galan AG closed the Fashion Palette runway with pieces from his second drop AW13 collection.
