Futuristic Tailoring and Oragami Folds from Dion Lee for Summer 2012Designer Australian WomenswearRead more about Dion Lee on Australian Fashion Review Following on from his successful Summer presentation in 2010, Dion Lee once again chose to present his Summer collection in the northern hall concert hall foyer of the Sydney Opera House for the 2011-12 season. His ‘Composure’ collection was a structural triumph, featuring futuristic geometric panelling, stiffand sharp tailoring, oragami folds and achitectural pleats. Suiting recieved a sci-fi makeover – skirts were given angular splits and jackets featured double folds and concealed cut-outs. The sculptured shapes were softened by pastel colours and feather-light sheer fabrics. Key looks of the collection include graphic photo prints, high-shine fabrics and cape backed blazers in a colour palette of white, grey, pale pink, watermelon, aqua and black.
