Words by Deadly Ponies
The Okapi, a little-known member of the African rainforest, and surrealist works by artist Walton Ford have served as the main inspiration for new season Deadly Ponies. Aspects of Ford’s meticulous watercolours of weird and wonderful creatures can be seen throughout the range. The artist’s common reference to the life and death struggle between the large and small of the animal kingdom has been most notably played out with the shrinking of the popular Mr Fill N Zip Twist. Far from being the runt of the litter, the new Mr Mini Fill N Zip is as cute as a baby elephant. Also, if you are looking for something to rough and tumble during the week, yet still small enough to rock on the weekend, DP’s new pouch and box shapes will be just the gin and tonic.
New season Deadly Ponies colours are bold and beautiful, encompassing all the sensations of a springtime safari. A peacock blue, smoky grey and camel tan give the range its base and earthy tones, while the accented lava orange sets it off like a bullet through the savannah.
We love what Deadly Ponies are doing for the simple fact that their bag designs are bold, unique yet practical. Each Deadly Ponies bag is intricately designed and executed, creating the perfect balance of fashion-forward and functionality. The aesthetic is clean, crisp and elegant – its boho styling for the classy.
