Rob Maniscalco is the real name behind pseudonym fashion label Claude Maus. Rob originally used the Claude Maus name for its art exhibition projects, which stemmed from his background as an artist and graphic designer.

Claude Maus clothing evolved in 1999 and was quickly recognized as a new force to be reckoned with in the Australian fashion industry. Two years later in 2001, Claude Maus clothing took a giant leap forward wining the Mercedes Australian Fashion Week Start-Up program. This feat was backed up a couple of years later in 2003, where Claude Maus gained recognition as Designer of the Year for both men’s and women’s fashion categories at the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival. Claude Mause had gone from concept to fully fledged fashion label in the space of a few years.

Claude Maus now has a strong underground following within Australia and overseas in Europe, Japan, and North America. The cult-like status of Claude Maus is transferred to the music scene, with the likes of Cut Copy, and The Presets evidently supporting the Claude Maus fashion movement. The combination of rockstar representation and fashion leads only to one thing – Claude Maus fashion further stamping its mark as one of Australia’s most popular independent sub-cultured labels.

One of the most Claude Maus clothing items is the hooded leather bomber jacket, an item which has proved pivotal to the labels success as an image between vintage, modern, sleek and stylish.

Claude Maus is currently stocked throughout selected boutiques in Australia and overseas. Most recently, Claude Maus opened its first signature flagshop store within Manchester Lane, Melbourne.
