Chambord Shine Awards 2009
Chambord Shine Awards for Australian fashion designer talentThe Chambord Shine Awards will celebrate its tender 2nd birthday this year after a successful launch in 2008. Australian magazine Marie Claire and Chambord (black raspberry liquor) are again combining to offer ten Australian fashion designers the chance to feature in their very own 2-page advertorial within Marie Claire. Essentially, the Chambord Shine Awards are aiding the development of emerging Australian fashion designer talent. Given the competitive nature of the $300 billion dollar worldwide fashion industry, every little bit helps! The top ten Australian fashion designers selected for 2009 will each receive $1000 to create an outfit that best represents or reflects the image of Chambord. The creations will be showcased on the catwalk on the 20th of October at Waterbar in the Blue Hotel, Woolloomooloo. The winner (last year it was Carl Kapp – see image below) will then feature in a two page spread on an issue of Marie Claire. Carl Kapp’s design was featured in March 2009 after being judged the winner by Australian fashionistas Kirrily Johnston, Joe Farage and Charlotte Dawson. Other fashion label entrants from last year include the likes of Antipodium, Romance was Born, and Jessie Hill. So are you a budding fashion designer looking for their break? The Chambord Shine Awards are open to any aspiring Australian designer aged 18 or older. Entries are now open until the 14th of August. For further details – visit www.chambordshineawards.com.au
